Where Do They Get These Amazing People?
Special thanks to another great guest, Deborah Novak, Registered Dietician, of the UCLA Integrative Urology Program. Deborah has been involved in clinical nutrition research for over 15 years. She has worked on a number of nationally recognized studies involving nutrition and preventive medicine including, Dr. Dean Ornish’s program for Reversing Heart Disease, the Women’s Health Initiative, the Women’s Intervention Nutrition Study for preventing breast cancer, Fighting Cancer with Fitness,a program for preventing cancer in African American women. That’s impressive.
Deborah, who is almost 8 months pregnant, joined us and gave us a basic explanation of what vitamins can do for us and helped us try and sort through some pretty disturbing new research that suggests multi-vitamins may be dangerous for your health.
Join us next time (Monday, June 4th at 6:00 PM) when we chat with
John Chen, PhD, PharmD, OMD, LAc., Pharmacologist, Herbologist, Acupuncturist and Author.
We will be looking at the #1 reason people visit their doctors (watch the show to find out what that is) and at one of the most over prescribed substances on the planet, antibiotics. Did you know 90% of upper respiratory infections are are viral (including children’s ear infections)? And that anti-biotics do not treat viral infections. According to the CDC, 40% of the nearly 50 million prescriptions for anti-biotics written each year are inappropriate. We are going to show you exactly which herbs and formulas are appropriate and can be used, quite effectively instead.
