Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. You Will Always Be Skye to Me
We are finally here, Season 3 of Agents of SHIELD is upon us and with this brand new season comes a major change that will rock the very foundation of the show! Skye is Dead! Okay that is a little dramatic, but in a way it is true. For the last two seasons we have known Chloe Bennet’s character as the lovable, plucky, and mysterious Skye. But after the revelation by Calvin Zabo/Johnson (her father played by Kyle McLachlin) that her name is in fact Daisy Johnson she is making the name change official. During this summers San Diego Comic Con Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb confirmed that we would no longer be calling her Skye, but would now be calling her Daisy from the very start of season 3.
From Marvel’s perspective this makes a lot of sense since season 3 will be them fully embracing the more fantastic aspects of the Marvel universe. There is no more tip toeing around the fact that our team lives in a world of super powered people, and the name change of Skye to Daisy is everyone coming to terms with that and accepting it. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good thing. The growth of the show as a whole has been directly tied to Skye’s growth and with her taking charge of her own team and with her own destiny you can bet exciting things are on the horizon. But it does need to be said, as exciting as all of that sounds She will always be Skye to me.
Season 3 begins tonight so make sure to watch and live tweet with us, and then join us for the Agents of SHIELD After Show!
